Acer platanoides (Norway Maple)
One of the more commonly planted Maple trees, with a size of 40 to 50 feet or more, and a spread of about 30 - 50 feet. Most of the trees at our farm are the regular tree, but there are a number of the cultivar, Crimson King. The leaves are green, turning yellow in the fall, although the Crimson King has a rich maroon colored leaf. The leaves are about 6 inches across, with five pointed lobes. They grow in climate zones 3 - 7.
